Whitney Elizabeth Houston was conceived into a musical family, 9 August 1993 in Newark New Jersey. Whitney is a cousin and daughter to singing superstar Dionne. The singer began her singing career in the choir at the church she attended The New Hope Baptist Church in Newark in the early years of her childhood and at 15 was singing backing vocals professionally with the mother of her on Chaka Khans 1978 hit Im Every Woman. Her mother, Jermaine, and Lou Rawls were some of the artists she backed up. The singer was also modeling for Seventeen magazine in the year 1981. She began working as a vocalist in the band Material. the New York-based funk band Material as well. It was her quality of her work as a vocalist with them that attracted the attention of the major record labels, including Arista which she signed with in 1983, and with whom she would remain for the remainder of her professional career. The album she released as her debut Whitney Houston was released in 1985, and was the most-seller album by the debut artist. My Love was her debut album. My Love was released in 1985 and was a top one smash. The album itself sold 3 million copies in its debut album's first year of release in the US and then went on to make 25 million copies worldwide, earning them the first six Grammys. The Whitney album released in 1987 which featured the songs that I Wanna Dance With Somebody and Where Do Broken Hearts Get to continue her popularity. However, it was The Bodyguard of 1992 that turned her into one of the biggest-selling performers in the history of music. Although the film was not very well received, nor did her performance, the music of the film's Dolly Parton version I Will Always Love You reached the number one spot on both the albums and singles charts in the United States for months. The album sold over 44 million copies. In the same year she gave birth to her daughter Bobbi Brown, she got married to Bobby Brown of the ex-New Edition group. Around this time when her well-documented drug use began and by 1996 she was an everyday user.
Dana Bash (also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz) is a CNN anchor and political reporter. Her weekend programs include Evans & Novak Late Edition, Inside Politics and Inside Politics. Her awards and accolades include her inclusion on the "The Women in Washington Power List" by Elle magazine. Bash is widely praised for her incredible abilities as a reporter/an anchor.
