Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style which combines R&B with gospel, soul music and R&B. Avery Sunshine's work has led her from Broadway to European concerts and festivals to even her participation in the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine is the daughter of Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta however, her roots lie in Chester Pennsylvania. There she first began to develop a musical career as a singer and pianist at church. In Atlanta she was a student at Spellman College where her musical instruction began with Atlanta's R&B Scene. She was named the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her singing, asked Sunshine to join the Dreamgirls production during Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine rose to prominence during the four daily performances of 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was later invited to sing during the 2009 Obama Inauguration.
