Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. Her name was chosen by her parents for the town where she grew up. Both her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder's mother and father have both been Jewish. Ryder believes herself to being Jewish. The actress is the younger sister of Uria as well as two half siblings Jubal as well as Sunyata. Ryder's family moved from Mendocino County to California when she was seven years old. There wasn't electricity. Television books were the only way for Ryder to spend the time and she was a voracious reader. At the age of 12 years old, Ryder was accepted into the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. In 1986 she was offered her first role on the big screen in the film Lucas when she was just 15 years old. Ryder experienced bullying at her high school. She hoped that the acting profession would change this. Unfortunately that didn't come to pass. However, she continued to pursue her ambitions. Beetlejuice the 1988 Tim Burton film, was her first major breakthrough. Ryder had a successful role in various films. There were two Academy Awards were nominated, one of which was for The Age of Innocence (1996).
